Spring has sprung, the grass is…?

Into the fourth week, the 20th of April. Yesterday afternoon for the walk to the house it was -23 with a windchill of -41. But its supposed to warm up after the weekend. I've heard that before. Would have been a nice quiet start to my Saturday, but the dentist in town this week and they work through the weekend. Its nice that they they leave the door open while they work- . Here's the airport yesterday (funny how you can't capture wind in a still photo). Its from the road looking back at the terminal- the runway was reasonably clear for the arrival. The rest of these are the drive back to the Hamlet- just a 2 minute drive. Looking forward to BBQs, patio and family time. See you soon!

Saturday morning drive.

The paramedic working in Emerg gets off at 8a.m. when he is relieved, and needs a ride home. Sure it is a whole 2 blocks...but he's tired...and it gave me a chance to take a few snaps for the album. This view is out the side of the centre by the front door. Farthest at the back of the photo is a ridge- thats where the cemetary is that I may have had a picture from last year. Further up that road accross is the dump- no pictures there! I did a pan on video, but 14 seconds is too big a file. Five seconds is to big a file to send. Am I doing this right?? These next two pictures are the highschool and the arena. The school is quite modern and nice- and I hear is well equiped. I've only been up the driveway, next to the front field, where one of the nurses stuck her truck off of the driveway... I'm not criticising- been there. It has been a challanging last few days driving wise. The snow fall almost daily blowing and drifting, followed by a couple of days of mist and over...

There goes week one…

By the end of the four day Easter weekend, followed by "Hamlet Day" Tuesday roads and parking lots were a mess with drifts and snow accumulations. No-one moved a grader or plow for the five days except maybe at the airport. And yes- I did get stuck...again. The nice on call suspervisor for Municiple Services jumped into his truck and came right to pull me out. UGH. Thats three times this year. I'm embarassed. So what do you do with a free evening, two hours to kill and nothing on tv? You bake cookies!! Yes, they were as good as they look. I did only have a few (really!) I baked them for staff and brought 24 into the lunch room. They were gone by afternoon so I have to think they were successful. Between having two roomies and the other guards that come and go on their rotations, there were five open jars of peanut butter between the cupboards. Now theres not. Wonder what to try next.
