Back in Igloolik
..Red skys at morning- sailors take warning.
I have wondered if that saying came from British maritimers- they'd be looking west, not east...so does it still apply if you are looking east? or is it an east coast US saying? Does it matter?
I always enjoy the red sunrises here, or in the late Fall, the constant red horizon. But back to the red skys at morning, I have found that more often than not, rain or snow or foul sailing weather is on its way.
Yes, the snow came. Only a few inches blew around, but mixed with occassional fog was enough to cancel the flight in on Friday. Which means there was no fight out. Which means that the dentist and his assistant got to stay the weekend and work the Easter weekend. Ahh the realities of working up north.
Much quieter today, Sunday- only one patient in so far today. I have knocked on wood.
It was nice returning to Igloolik and finding that about three quarters of the medical staff and almost all of the local staff are the same as when I was here last summer. They are all a nice bunch and saves me the few days of trying to learn and remember everyones name. My night partner Kirk is great so thats all good too.
Have a Happy Easter, miss you all. I am having chili tonight...I'll pretend its ham and potatoes and baking and chocolate...;)
